Record-breaking vodka and wine sales
Vodka sales reached 625 million liters, surpassing the 2017 record.
Still wine sales grew by 0.9% year-on-year, amounting to 469 million liters.
Sparkling wine showed the most significant growth, with sales increasing by 10.9% to 163 million liters.
Production growth
From January to October, Russia produced 271 million liters of still and 134.7 million liters of sparkling wine — the highest since 2017.
Increase in strong spirits, decline in low-alcohol drinks
Strong spirits saw a 16.6% growth, with 132 million liters sold, while liqueurs grew by 15.7%. Meanwhile, low-alcohol drinks declined by nearly 20%, due to tax increases.
Economic instability impacts consumption
Experts attribute the increase in alcohol consumption to economic conditions and consumer preferences shifting to high-quality imported wines, which remain highly attractive due to improved logistics.
